These are some photos I dug up while backing up a ton of old files on my computer.
Ethan came to visit Andrea and me and we had a tiny photo adventure :)
We didn't have any super conceptual ideas, we just drove around until we found a place we liked
and got out of the car and played with confetti most of the time. haha.
(Make sure to check out when the confetti attacked Ethan, it's the second to last picture, hahaha)

I have the lucky honor to go to Ethan's house for a Flickr gathering this summer and I AM SO EXCITED.
It was super fun to meet Ethan before I went to his house for the meet up, but it made me even more restless
to go this summer! Indiana is going to explode with talented awesomeness.

Enjoy!

<![CDATA[1 of 4 reasons why I was MIA most of this semester]]>Fri, 20 Apr 2012 16:29:06 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/04/1-of-4-reasons-why-i-was-mia-most-of-this-semester.htmlHey guys!

So I'm not sure if you noticed, but my blog posting seriously went down this semester. Now you can finally see why :) My only photo class this semester was in all film, which was AWESOME, but it makes posting them digitally a little time consuming. We got the opportunity to learn a lot about film cameras, film, and developing our own negatives and prints. Though the darkroom can be extremely bitter-sweet, I decided that it's mostly sweet.

I have four total projects to post for you, but I'll be uploading them as they get scanned in.
For my first project I was supposed to document an inanimate object. I chose to shoot wind turbines. Every time I drive to Ohio I go through an enormous field of them, and I love it. I didn't ever really have a good reason for liking them besides I thought they looked really cool. I drove out to do my project with the expectations that the shoot would be pretty fun and I'd have a good time, but what happened next caused me fall in love with this shoot. I pulled up to a field that I particularly liked the puddles in and turned off my car. I looked at the fog outside and felt very peaceful. Then I swung open my door to be struck by deafening silence. I had expected the wind torbines to make some metal, machine-like sounds, but they didn't. I was engulfed in complete and utter silence. I was instantly in awe. Then, as I walked closer to the turbines while shooting, I realized exactly what made the turbines so alluring. I think that there is something beautiful about how such an enormous industrial-like machine can be so elegant and sleek. Needless to say I loved this project WAY more than I had anticipated, and wind turbines are ever more so my favorite part about driving home from school.

Enjoy!

<![CDATA[Breaking in my New Zealand boots :)]]>Mon, 16 Apr 2012 06:57:59 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/04/breaking-in-my-new-zealand-boots.htmlHi my lovelies!

Sorry I feel like I don't get to post much any more. I promise promise promise I have TONS for you to see, but finals week is setting in at school and chaos is inevitable. I did have time yesterday to visit with my friend Jef in Indy and go on a little hiking adventure. It was a nice relaxation from the jam-packed schedule that is my life. It was really green and beautiful, and warm! We wandered through the woods and even rescued a stranded crawl dad! We found him on his back and barely moving in a dried up stream. I took him to a running stream and set him near the water's edge and he scooted towards the water. He never went in completely, but I'm just going to tell myself he was resting and recovering. :)

The whole time I kept thinking about how amazing NZ is going to be.
14 more days and I'll be on a plane leaving the country. GET HERE FASTER!!!

Enjoy!

<![CDATA[Photo Outing!]]>Sun, 08 Apr 2012 23:29:09 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/04/photo-outing.htmlHello again my loves!!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend! :) This past friday I got to meet up with all my talented friends from Ohio!
This was the first time all of us had been able to meet up together! Usually we're missing one of two from the group, so this was an exciting meet up :D

We spent the day at Grace's house, and she took us to some woods around her place and then she took us to an abandoned insane asylum.
Seriously, this was the BEST place I have ever gotten to go take pictures. The walls were peeling paint and there were old photos
and things left in the asylum from when it had been abandoned. It was extremely creepy, but I am SO glad I was able to see it.
I just wish there had been more tools left over in some of the rooms, like the dentist office. The rooms were mostly bare,
but we were able to get some cool shots, even though we would have loved some creepy dentist chairs to use as props.

We concluded our festivities with some models that we shot in the wooded area next to the insane asylum as the sun was going down. After that, we headed back to Grace's, had a cook out/editing party, played some hackie sack with a lemon, made lemonade, and had a sleep over. It was a good Friday for sure :)

Below are photos of my talented photographer friends in the woods and the insane asylum, and there are a few self portraits from the insane asylum as well. Then after that are some photos of models from after the shooting inside the insane asylum.

Be sure to check out these photographers!

<![CDATA[Lauryn + Cory]]>Sun, 08 Apr 2012 20:04:58 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/04/lauryn-cory.htmlHello loves!!

I got to take the engagement photos for a very good friend of mine :)
We went running around in the woods for their shoot and happened upon a big red barn that was perfect for them. Even better though, we found a pile of tree stumps behind the barn! They plan on using a tree stump as the platter for their wedding cake,
so needless to say, this surprise find was perfect! Lauryn and Cory are absolutely adorable and I loved getting to capture the love they have for each other.

Enjoy!

<![CDATA[Ohio photography group outing ]]>Sun, 01 Apr 2012 12:49:10 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/04/ohio-photography-group-outing.htmlHey guys!!
So a few weeks ago my group of Ohio photography friends got together to shoot again! We had a full day of shooting at Marley's house with a whole bunch of beautiful ladies modeling for us. As always we had tons of fun. You'll see in the photos below the two models I worked most with, Mackenzie and Amber, as well as some of the photos of my group of friends. We shot all day, edited at Marley's house, then had a cookout to finish off a fantastic day. I get to see my little group of friends next weekend and I am so sooo excited for another outing with them.

enjoy!

<![CDATA[Assisting Matt :)]]>Mon, 19 Mar 2012 20:18:15 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/03/assisting-matt.htmlHello my loves!

Sorry for the lack of posting, this dang film class is cutting into my blog time! lol. Anyways, I got to go on a shoot with one of my best friends today. I love getting to help Matt shoot because I always feel like I learn so much. Matt was shooting the beautiful Jennifer Yach today for some more colorful work to add to his senior portfolio.
I was an assistant but also like a sort of stand-in stylist. In other words,
I got to help pick out what Jennifer was wearing and help pose her.

Most of the pictures below aren't super high quality, they're just to show you a little bit of what we did today. I did manage to snag Jennifer for two shots right after I finished prepping her for another shoot, while Tim and Matt were setting up the lighting,
and you can see those below. She has GORGEOUS bone structure.

Hopefully I'll have some film scans to post soon ;)

Check out Matt's work here... http://www.matthewsimmonsphoto.com/

enjoy!

<![CDATA[Keelan is turning one!]]>Sun, 11 Mar 2012 14:03:33 -0800http://kristianlynae.com/2/post/2012/03/keelan-is-turning-one.htmlI got to take Keelan's 1 year pictures this week! His mom and dad jumped in a few this time too. They are one adorable little family, and I love when I get to work with them. This is the second time I've gotten to shoot Keelan and I hope I get to do all the rest of his future baby photos because he just the cutest thing.

Enjoy!
